Korfu

October 20th, 2006

I can’t believe almost 3 weeks have already past since we came back from our 2 week holiday on Korfu. My tan has almost faded away again unfortunately. Speaking of which, I of course set the expectations for the tan quite high. I guessed before and after would look like this:

But reality proofed I was some shades away from my goal:

 Korfu Tan Comparison I

I am pretty sure that all of you guys living in Australia will have a good laugh about that silly light brown colour, but I tell you for London it’s not too bad especially as the Brits usual tend to go more towards the reddish colour… (Ooops, some of my readers here are Brits, isn’t there a way to filter this by locale ;-))

Anyway, let’s get back to the subject. Our holidays were really very nice and especially very relaxing. They haven’t started that well though because our plane couldn’t land in Korfu due to a thunderstorm and we got diverted to Tessaloniki where we had to wait one hour in the plance before the pilot thought he might try it a second time. Luckily it was all good then. After that our holiday could begin! And actually, it’s amazing what 2 weeks on a island with a descent climate can do for you! Okay, not to forget the good food and the cheap Greek wine which both had their influence on my well-being too! Have a look at the pictures and see for yourself!

And now it’s back to reality, but that’s actually not that bad, especially as Katrin has hundreds of ideas of what we could do. For example, one day we went to “meet” Frank McCourt, author of the new book “Teacher Man”. He is particularly well known for his price winning true story of “Angela’s Ashes”. Read more about this in Katrin’s London Times Blog.

Okay, I think that’s enough news for the moment which leaves me to hope that you are all well! Don’t hesitate to comment here in the blog or write me a personal message. I would love to hear from you!
